Historic Brattonsville has operated for over 166 years. It was one of the largest farms in York County. The 6000 acres once held 20 houses for 139 slaves.  In 1963 the Col. William Bratton House was placed under the care of the Historical Commission. Today, Historic Brattonsville's Heritage Farm Program is award winning. Throughout the year, Brattonsville interpreters re-enact farming techniques, including plowing a field using a horse, and day-to-day activities. The farm has livestock in order to help interpret their important roles in the daily life. Poultry, cattle, pigs, horses, and sheep can be found on the farm currently.
